Future Legend aka Andres Bucci returns to Hummingbird by BPZ with a gritty deep tech/techno EP, which features two original tracks alongside remixes by Pisces Man and Benjamin Philippe Zulauf. This is Future Legend's first release on the Hummingbird by BPZ record label since he released his album on the imprint in 2022. Both of the original tracks utilise analogue sounds and raw percussion to create deep grooves with dance floor energy. Andres Bucci is the artist behind the Future Legend alias, and he is known for his collaborations with Kate Simko on Traum Music, in addition to his solo music on the likes of Mike Shannon's Cynosure Recordings. He has been making music since the '90s and has a timeless sound utilising 808 and 909 drum machines. On remix duty, Benjamin Philippe Zulauf is the owner/founder of Hummingbird by BPZ. He is a skilled producer whose jazz-infused style has been released on record labels such as Claap Rec, Vekton Black, and Fourier Transform. Rounding off the package is a remix by Pisces Man who's a secretive artist delivering a slamming techno remix of the title track. The title track, "Mono" has laidback chords with a vintage Detroit vibe that are underpinned by bumping percussion and an understated acid line. Pisces Man's remix of "Mono" cranks up the tempo and beefs up the percussion to deliver a full-throttle version with dubby undertones. "Yeah Yeah" is the second original track, and it has trippy metallic textures, cascading percussion rhythms, and vocal stabs combining with bleeping melodies. Benjamin Philippe Zulauf's remix of "Yeah Yeah" streamlines the groove to increase the dance floor appeal, adding flowing percussion that complements the original's synth work.
