Biography
The Sound of Rome, Shaped by Detroit and Berlin.
In the streets of Rome, where the past intertwines with the present, Conrad Van Orton was born and raised, an artist who has been able to merge his musical roots with the sounds of Detroit and Berlin, creating a unique and unmistakable sound.
His passion for music is a journey that began in the intimacy of his parents' record collection, a treasure trove of glam rock and classical music that nurtured his curiosity and opened the doors to a universe of sounds. Later, the Italian underground hip-hop of the 90s marked his adolescence, instilling in him a sense of rebellion and the desire to express himself through music. The local radio stations, with their broadcasts of techno and club music, and last but not least the release of
“Homework” by Daft Punk ignited the spark that illuminated his artistic path and led him to purchase his first Technics turntables in 1999.
In the early 2000s, at around 16 years old, at the invitation of Saverio Evangelista (one half of the duo Esplendor Geometrico) he participated in a sound experimentation workshop within the "Borderline Festival" at the Teatro Vascello in Rome. This experience definitively opened Conrad's eyes to a more abstract musical scenario that goes beyond mere entertainment.
