Internationally acclaimed drummer/percussionist; future-music & live electronic music performance pioneer; professional international solo artist, producer, arranger and innovative cultural arts practitioner; Musical/Creative Director for the music/multi-media performance project DRUM-FM and Stockholm-based live arts-education organization and interactive concept-club KULT-U-REAL™.

From its 1994 London/Brooklyn inception, Marque’s drumming and live performances with DRUM-FM literally pioneered and gave birth to the musical sub-genre phenomenon known as Live DRUM’n'BASS (LIVE DnB)! He remains an icon of independent Underground Music in the UK, Europe and beyond, heavily influenced and supported by his early years in New York City as a founder-member of the infamous anti-racist music organisation The Black Rock Coalition.

Marque is continuing the humanitarian-based work of his multi-spectrum Global Breaks compilation album released in 2023 on his tribal broadcast recordings label entitled JUNGLIST BREAKS vs. HUMAN MISTAKES, Volume 1, curated and produced to support the international fundraising campaign WATER CHANGES EVERYTHING - dedicated to finishing a new water well for the Msaje Village, deep in MAASAI Territory, Tanzania. From completing that well to serve over 3,000 Woman, children and Warriors, this project is now initiating new partnerships with International Foundations in Tanzania to extend the efforts in nearby villages with new solar-powered wells + more.

Released in June 2025, Marque’s collaborative track “CONTROL” ~ nominated and selected by 5-time Grammy- winning African Music icon and activist Angelique Kidjo! This “Afri-Lectro-Pop” collaboration was created and produced for the Swiss-based BEYOND MUSIC for Social Change NGO platform (pioneered and supported by Tina Turner) which features music made from international collaborations born from the artists on the platform to inspire social change.

Gilmore’s primary work over the past 35+ years connects ancient musical traditions, modern music and music- technology in both performance and production, known as: “Science-Friction-Drum-and-Space”. This work continues with commissioned performance-lectures, multimedia art installations, filmmaking, VR-design and interactive-theatre disciplines. Marque has been honoured to have worked with several legends and icons of Jazz, Pop, Rock, Hip-Hop, Dance, Classical, Indian and African Music from Sting to Joe Zawinul, Oumou Sangare to Vernon Reid, Katia Labeque to Talvin Singh, Goldie to Robert Miles, M1 of DeadPrez & Brian Jackson of Gil Scott-Heron fame and many, many more ~ including x2 Grammy & Latin Grammy nominations for his innovative production work with Cuban pianist Omar Sosa.
